Smith Creek

March 14, 2010

On Middle Fork travel past the old school house.  Continue past  a rough campground and open meadow.  As you curve up the the hill look for a trail on the left.  It’s not marked and may be hard to find.  Less than three miles from S. Fork junction.

This is a very pretty, easy hike above Smith Creek.  Not suitable for bikes.  Though short the hike is worth taking because it leads to big, open cedars along the creek.  Lots of easy bushwhacking from there.

3-17-10  Road is dry in most places.  Still enough ice and mud to make it rough for cars.  The trail is usable, but has ice in some spots.  May be ok by Sunday.  Not too much stuff on the trail.  It’s shady so is best on a sunny, warm day.
